“CPU Fan Error!” – is being displayed on your monitor, and your PC won’t boot? AIO Pump Installed into the CPU Fan Header.Possible Causes & How to Fix “CPU Fan Error”.What Does the “CPU Fan Error” Message Mean?.Any help is appricated, I'm at a complete loss. I've tried ASUS support, all they did was tell me to update the BIOS and reset which I already tried. I thought it was software at first but now that the BIOS and SpeedFan get confused on the fan speed consistantly, I'm not so sure. But if the fans are stuck on high speed, it shows as 370 there as well.Īt this point I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem. If I enter the BIOS from a powered off state and look at the fan speed, it shows 900 RPM. If I open up SpeedFan quickly before the fan speed kicks in, it shows it at around 900 RPM, the same as reported in the BIOS, but once it eventually kicks into overdrive, the reading decreases to 370 for some odd reason. Using SpeedFan, I observe the fan stuck at around 370 RPM Closing/entering sleep mode does shut the fans off, but they immediantly jump to full blast when it wakes up. The longest I think I've seen is 5 minutes. (no gradual increase) Sometimes it takes 30 seconds from when I can see the login screen, sometimes it takes 4 minutes. It takes a little bit from a clean reboot to ramp the fans up, but when it happens, it immediantly jumps from low speed to high speed. Doing either without fully shutting the device off leaves the fans on, and as such, keeps them stuck at their high speed. If i boot into Win10 Safe Mode from a completly powered off state, the fans stay pefectly fine. If I boot into the BIOS from a completly powered off state, the fans stay perfectly fine. It's very loud, but more importantly, sucking up too much battery power when all I need to be doing is schoolwork. No matter what I do, (hitting the fan setting switch to swap between silent, balanced, or turbo settings) the laptop fan is always at what I'm assuming is the maximum they can spin. So I've had this laptop for a while now, it's been great, but the fans have been acting up.
